On a hot summers day a quick iced coffee really “hits the spot” and satisfies your thirst.

I was inspired by Starbucks (they make millions with their good ideas). With this recipe, you can bring Starbucks into your home. Not only does it taste good and flavorful, but its super easy to make. You don’t need fancy equipment, just a shaker. So let’s shake your coffee.

Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso

  • 2 shots espresso
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar syrup
  • 150-200 ml skimmed milk
  • 1 cup of ice cubes

Instructions

Brown Sugar Syrup

  • In a small sauce pan, mix together the brown sugar and water.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until the brown sugar has dissolved.
  • Simmer the mixture for 2-3 minutes. The syrup will still be quite thin when hot. Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
  • Pour the syrup into a heat-proof airtight glass container. Enjoy!

  • Brew your espresso and pour it into a tall mason jar with about 1 cup of ice. Add the syrup, cover it with a lid and shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
  • Pour into a tall glass including the ice. Top up with skimmed milk and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
